Cinnamon Streusel Dessert Pizza

15 minutes is all it takes to put together this yummy warm dessert! Using a store bought pop open pizza crust (such as Pillsbury) and a few ingredients you already have on hand you can make any moment a yummy one!

I found this recipe here and decided to try it for myself. It was a very tasty experiment.

There was really only one little change I think I would make next time. I found the streusel layer to be a bit drier then I'd like and felt it needed a bit more shortening/oil to help it clump together just a bit more.  Next time I make, I think I will increase the shortening and/or oil just a little bit. Maybe one Tablespoon of each and see if I want to add another Tablespoon.

Also my oven is horrible. It does NOT cook evenly at all. So in my case the crust browned before I felt the streusel topping browned. I do feel by increasing the shortening/oil a bit that I mentioned above, will also help in the browning/cooking of the streusel crumble as well.

My teenager grabbed a second slice and a glass of milk as he dashed back to watch basketball and loved it. So I do recommend trying the recipe for yourself. Your family will thank you. It's a great one to keep around and tweek to your own preference!

Cinnamon Streusel Dessert Pizza
Ingredients:
Pizza dough (You can make your own, I just bought some refrigerated dough at the grocery store)
1 TBSP butter, melted
Cinnamon

Streusel:
1/2 cup plus 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 TBSP vegetable shortening
2 TBSP vegetable oil

Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 TBSP milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Mix together streusel ingredients with a fork, or your clean hands, then side aside.

To make pizza, pat dough into a 12 inch pizza pan that has been sprayed with oil.  Perforate pizza dough with a fork (this keeps bubbles from forming), then brush with 1 TBSP melted butter. Sprinkle cinnamon all around buttered crust.

Top pizza crust with streusel mix.

(Well, pooh.  My computer did not save my picture I took of this step! And, of course, I rushed and deleted it off the camera..so... will have to make this again just so I can insert this picture! )

Bake at 460 F for 8 to 9 minutes depending on the thickness of the pizza.  Mix icing ingredients until it is of a drizzle consistency. If it is too thick, then thin with a small amount of milk until you have reached your desired thinness.

When finished baking, top with icing in a circular pinwheel pattern. Cut up and enjoy!
