What puts  this Philly style cheese steak sandwich I adapted  over the top is making the cheese garlic bread for the moist beef, peppers, and onions to layer onto.  What a yummy dinner to come home to!

Crockpot Italian Beef Cheese Steak  Garlic Bread Sandwiches

1 lb. stew meat
1 onion sliced
choose your peppers and slice: 7 pepperoncini or banana peppers from a jar or a sliced green pepper
2 cups water or for spicier flavor use the juice from the jar of pepperoncini or banana peppers
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 pkg. dry italian dressing seasoning packet
4 oz. sliced provolone, mozarella, or pepperjack  cheese
1 clove garlic or 2 Tablesoons Parmesan Garlic Bread Seasoning
8 slices sour dough bread or sour dough rolls
2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons mayonnaise

Put meat in crock pot. Sprinkle with Italian dressing seasoning packet. Top with onions and peppers. In separate bowl either use 2 cups reserved juice from pepper jar or water and disolve beef bouillon cubes. Pour into crock pot around the meat.

Cook on high for 3 hours or low for approx. 6 hours. Shred beef with a fork and return to crock pot. Continue cooking while you prepare garlic bread.

To make Garlic Bread:  cut garlic bread in half and rub garlic on 4 pieces of bread and then top with butter or if using a garlic bread seasoning, spread with butter first and then sprinkle the buttered slices with seasoning.
On remaining 4 slices spread with mayonnaise and then top with cheese.  Place all slices of prepared bread on a cookie sheet and toast under the broiler  until cheese is melted.

Top each buttered garlic toast bottom with meat, peppers, and onions from crockpot. Top with cheesy melted bread.  Optional: Serve with a side bowl of reserved juice for dipping.
